School Incident and Safety Measures

On October 28, at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector

20, Panchkula, an unfortunate incident occurred, in which

an eight-year-old student assaulted a six- year-old student

in a classroom.

The girl is currently being treated at PGI Chandigarh and is out of danger.

Her parents are with her, and she is safe.

The minor student involved in this matter, who is

eight years old. For him,

in accordance with the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, an expert

psychological evaluation is being conducted, and further

proceedings will be carried out accordingly.

During the police investigation, prima facie, the school administration's

negligence also came to light. In view of this, we have, under the JJ Act

and the provisions of the BNS, registered an

FIR against them, and it will be investigated with complete

impartiality and seriousness.

In Panchkula schools, after seeing this incident

we've decided that a detailed SOP will be issued,

which all schools here will be required to

follow.

Additionally, Panchkula Police will visit schools and

hold sensitization and outreach programs for teachers and students

to ensure children's safety is maintained in schools.

I also want to assure all parents watching that

the safety of children studying in Panchkula schools is our

topmost priority. We will ensure that in this case and all future cases,

every investigation is conducted in an absolutely fair manner

and that children remain completely safe in schools.
