In a move that

is the third of its kind in the history of the United States, the U.S.

House of Representatives

has delivered the articles of impeachment of President Donald Trump to the Senate,

which will begin trial proceedings next week. A trial that could last for

several weeks. Today we will

write history by presenting the articles of impeachment against the president of

the United States for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

We will write history and we will make progress for the American people,

progress backed by our Constitution. In the meantime, Pelosi has tasked Democratic

Representative Adam Schiff,

who led the parliamentary investigation of Trump, with overseeing the team

of seven prosecutors.

Their mission is to convince the Senate of the two charges brought against Trump.

The Chief Justice will be sworn in, and we will pledge to deliver

justice for our institutions and for our state and for the nation.

After that, we will formally notify the White House of the trial,

and we will summon the president

to respond to the various articles and to send his lawyers. Thus the trial will

officially begin on Tuesday.

The trial will begin next Tuesday at a time when the Democrats are trying to obtain

testimonies that would form strong evidence against Donald Trump,

especially the testimony

of former National Security Advisor John Bolton, which could tip the scales.
