You will also be shocked to see the scam the government is pulling on the public

regarding petrol prices.

In 2014, the price of crude oil was$ 105 per barrel and petrol was available

for₹ 72, for₹ 72.

Today, this same crude oil is available at$ 96 per barrel,

which means it is much cheaper. But what is the price of petrol today?

It has crossed 100.₹ 102 in Delhi and₹ 111 per liter in Mumbai.

For those of you who do not know,

crude oil is the raw material used to make petrol.

Compared to 2014, the raw material has become cheaper,

but the product is being sold at a higher price. Do you know why this is?

The whole story is even more shocking. Before the Modi government

came to power in 2014,

the excise duty on petrol was₹ 9.48 per liter. After Modi came to power,

crude oil prices in the international market started falling.

So, instead of making petrol cheaper,

the government increased the excise duty by₹ 11 per liter. Then in 2020,

when COVID hit, crude oil prices suddenly plummeted, crashing by up to 69%.

Now, what should have happened

was that the public would also get petrol at a 69% discount.

But in May 2020, the Modi government

increased the excise duty by another₹ 10 per liter.

If the government hadn't increased this tax,

you would have been getting petrol at₹ 40 per liter.

The government didn't pass the benefit of cheaper prices to the public; instead,

they increased the excise duty to₹ 32.98 per liter. Then comes 2022,

and the Russia- Ukraine war begins.

In the name of rising crude oil prices,

the government once again increases petrol prices by₹ 5.60 per liter.

But the very next year, in 2023,

when crude oil prices fell again,

was any benefit passed on to the public? Absolutely not.

Meaning, in difficult times,

the entire burden falls on the public.

And as soon as good days come for crude oil,

the government snatches away all the profit.

Do you know what the cherry on top of this whole thing is?

The petrol being given to the public today isn't even pure petrol.

It has 20% ethanol mixed in. The wholesale price of ethanol

is around₹ 60–₹ 65 per liter, which is 20% cheaper than petrol.

So, mixing ethanol should have made petrol cheaper anyway,

but the government isn't passing this benefit to the public either.

And do you know who is benefiting the most from mixing ethanol?

The answer to this is:

the ministers in the government and their children.
