Discussion on Houthi Threats and Regional Security

Uh, I live in Sana'a. I graduated with a degree in French from the Faculty of Arts at Sana'a University In the year 1999.

At the end of December 2019, I, uh, traveled under the auspices of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to Jordan to take a course Uh, it was organized by the security section of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security.

Of course, during my visit to Jordan, I met the Israeli intelligence officer Shaul Gad.

In the discussion, uh, we also talked about what passed between Shaul and me, Shaul told me, uh, that they had many studies and opinions uh, about finding a solution to the growing capabilities of the Houthis in Yemen.

And among the options they were studying and considering was to strike the Grand Mosque in Mecca, or somewhere near one of the two holy mosques, and have the strike come, for example, from the Red Sea or from somewhere else from which it could be established that the strike came from Yemen.

And, of course, they would pin the blame on the Hou— the Houthis in this way, and this would be accompanied by a huge media storm.

And widespread incitement campaigns against Arabs.

And, of course, the jihadists who returned— who came back to Yemen from var— from different places.

I remember I replied to him and said, “This is a dangerous scenario.”

And the region is important to the whole world.

I mean, jihadists, Ansar Allah, and the Red Sea.

And issues and things like that. Uh, he replied, “No, we’ll secure the Red Sea internationally.”

It will be secured internationally. And the Americans will secure the oil sources.

And we’ll let the Saudis, the Houthis, and the jihadists drown in the desert.

And we’ll stand by and watch.
