Israeli Prime Minister Engages with Arab Citizens

The backdrop is that I'm an Arab minister expressing my wish

that all Israeli citizens be partners in this miracle called

the State of Israel.

And I'm telling you, there are so many Arab citizens, so many.

I go to villages, I go— I was in Ar'ara in the Negev, and a

Bedouin community in the Negev.

It, it was incredibly moving. I

came to— to make sure they got vaccinated

because their vaccination rates are low

so they're much more vulnerable.

And of course, all those who don't get vaccinated then

also put a strain on our healthcare system, and then others can't

get treatment.

But first and foremost, for their own sake. I went there.

Uh, there was a doctor there— uh, a 35-year-old school principal, uh,

a young, energetic man, got vaccinated.

I said, great, get the vaccination rates up.

By the way, they're going up.

They told me that after my visits, they're going up.

But what I wanted to tell you.

I leave there

and on the streets of Ar'ara, there are

young people standing on the sidewalks, crowds of young men and women on

the rooftops, and I tell the— uh, security guard, stop here.

He says, "Prime Minister, this isn't planned. Stop." He stops.

I want to open the— Prime Minister, you can't leave.

Open the door. I'm going to them.

For just sixty seconds.

And then

cheers of joy.
