Analysis of Pair Skating Lifts

Above all, um…

When it comes to racking up points,

the most important thing is,

in pairs, a move called a lift

is worth a tremendous number of points

in terms of scoring.

Lifts. Yes.

The RikuRyu pair's biggest

source of points

is the lift.

Japanese skaters performing such beautiful

lifts

is something that

I really have never seen

before,

Rather than using strength, they use

the momentum of this speed

to lift her right up.

They also have that kind of technical

skill,

and RikuRyu's uniquely

smooth pair

lifts

support the high-scoring parts

of their performances,

I think.

What kind of recognition

do they receive worldwide?

Even on the world stage,

their lifts really are

number one.
